Do you regularly suffer from headaches or pain in the back, neck and shoulders?
Is training becoming a drag with ever-worsening niggles in your calves, knees, hips or elsewhere?
Do you want to maximise your chances of completing that physical challenge, injury free and to the best of your ability?
Are you in your second or third trimester of pregnancy and looking for relief from associated aches and pains?
Rebecca Wasey Sport and Remedial Massage can help answer all these questions by providing you with a personalised treatment plan that aims to restore balance to the musculoskeletal system.
Sport and remedial massage – increasingly known as soft tissue therapy – is a manual therapy that works on the body’s soft tissue (the muscles, tendons and ligaments). Using a combination of massage techniques including deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, muscle energy technique and neuromuscular technique, the aim is to relieve musculoskeletal pain, improve mobility and help prevent future injuries.
Sport and remedial massage can be beneficial to anyone, of any fitness level, by helping to:
- Alleviate the back, neck and shoulder pain associated with desk-based work
- Ease stress-related headaches
- Treat and prevent sport-related injuries
- Relieve chronic muscle and joint pain
- Treat trigger points and referred pain
- Assist in the rehabilitation of muscle strains, ligament sprains and tendinitis
- Improve suppleness of scar tissue
- Improve range of mobility in the hips, shoulders, neck, knees and ankles
- Relieve pain caused by chronic health conditions like fibromyalgia, MS and Parkinsons
With clinics in Chilton, Bucks and Thame, Oxon, the first appointment will involve an initial assessment during which we will look at the possible causes of the presenting problem. We will then agree a treatment schedule and if applicable, a manageable rehabilitative programme of stretches, strengthening and self-myofascial release, with the aim of resolving the problem and preventing recurrence.
